Pressure-side Automatic Pool Cleaner Care and Maintenance
Kevin Braidic, Product Manager with Zodiac Pool Systems, talks about proper care and maintenance for pressure-side automatic pool cleaners.
Transcripts
Kevin Braidic: Hi! My name is Kevin Braidic, Product Manager with Zodiac Pool Systems. Today, we are talking about care and maintenance of your automatic pool cleaner.
Now, we are going to talk specifically about pressure cleaners. It's imperative that before installing any pressure cleaner, that you clean the pool filter. If you are reinstalling your pool cleaner after a winterization, be sure to flush out all the lines before reinstalling. Always remove the pool cleaner before swimmers enter the pool, and disconnect when cleaning or backwashing the pool filter. Always remove the cleaner before chemically treating the pool.
After cleaning or backwashing the pool filter, let the filter run for at least five minutes before reconnecting the pool cleaner in order to completely flush the lines out.
Some general tips to use. Empty the filter bag when it's half full. Alternate between two bags, and keep the inline filter screen clean. Some tips for storage and winterization. Always disconnect before handling your automatic pool cleaner. Be sure to drain all the water out to prevent any freeze damage. And when starting your automatic pool cleaner, be sure to disassemble the hoses or lay them straight. Never coil the hoses, never store the cleaner in direct sunlight. Find a sheltered dry safe area for your cleaner to reside for the winter.
So those are some tips for pressure cleaners. Next, we will talk about robotic cleaners.
