Transcripts
Amanda Bell: Hi! My name is Amanda Bell and I am the International Makeup Artist for Pixi. So, I would like to introduce you to my gorgeous model Ms. Megan for today, and what we are actually going to talking about is top summer makeup tips. So one of the things which is essential for a summer beauty is a primer. So the reason why we use a primer essentially is to make your base last longer, but there are other reasons too. I have three primers to choose from today, which I can use on Megan's skin, and there are three different reasons for using them. One of them is to hydrate the skin, two, is to hold the foundation on for longer, and then the third reason is, each primer has a unique capability. So the primer that I've had she chosen for Megan is a mattifying primer which is fantastic for really really hot days. But as the mattifying primer which has shea butter in there, so it's how she's going to moisturize this skin as well.
Megan's skin is a little bit dehydrated and a little bit dry. So, how you can tell that your skin is dehydrated, is just by touching it and there is no surface oiliness there at all, and also when you just turn it left the skin like that, you can see very fine dehydration lines. So what we want to do is put as much moisture and as much hydration into the skin as possible.
So this is an oil free primer, but it's like a drink of water for the skin, and is packed full of with shea butter, which is very very nourishing. It also got humactance in that, so what that does is that it actually traps moisture to the skin surface, so you just put a very very even coat all the way across the skin, starting from the center panel and then working outwards. I am going to do exactly the same on the other side. And so this is going to make Megan's skin fell so much more hydrated, and means that when we came to do the base it will last for longer and look fresher for longer, which is obviously what we all want.
Samantha Powell: How does that feel Megan?
Megan: Feels great! Samantha Powell: Is your skin feeling a little less tight now?
Megan: And cooler of course. Samantha Powell: And cooler. As you'll see this primer is completely colorless, but just to show you another primer, and one of the effects. This is a primer which has got a soft luster. So, I actually like to use this even with just a little highlighter. So you can take it across the cheek buns and what that does is it reflects the light, so obviously when you use it across the whole face, you end up with this really really gorgeous soft, almost the air brushed effect, and because the pigment's got a little bit of gold and a little bit of peach in there, it's very, very flattering to all the skin types. So there we go, that's the reasons why we use a primer and some of the benefits of using a primer.
So now Megan's skin is completely prepped to ready for the base and that's what we are going to do next. We are going to choose the right base for Megan's skin.
