Spring Cleaning Tasks Four Times Per Year
Christine Maroulis with Merry Maids discusses some tasks that need to be completed quarterly, and should definitely be included in your spring cleaning routine.
Transcripts
Christine: Hi! I am Christine with Merry Maids and today I will be offering some spring cleaning tips. Right now, let's talk about those tasks that need to be completed quarterly, but should definitely be included in your spring cleaning routine. Keep in mind that some of these tasks may need to be performed more often, depending on how lived in your home is, if you have pets, or there are smokers in the home. First, you will want to shampoo, not just vacuum, the high traffic areas of the carpet. Second, dust blinds and clean valances and drapes. Be sure to read the care instructions before tackling this project. Next, wash doorjambs, window sills, doors, and walls, looking for dust buildup, cobwebs, and other marks. Next, vacuum air conditioning vents and refrigerator vents. This helps keep those appliances running better. Also, clean light fixtures and chandeliers. Be sure to use the stepladder when reaching above your head. Wash bedding, not just the sheets which should be done more often, but comforters, bed skirts, and shams, this will help remove dust and dirt.
Now that we have discussed these quarterly tasks, we will discuss those tasks which should be completed once or twice a year.
