Angela Cerkevich: Hi! My name is Angela Cerkevich and I'm a yoga instructor at Yoga Tales in Bethesda, Maryland. Today, we are going to learn how to do yoga with your baby. First, we are going to get centered. So, you want to find a comfortable position for you and for your baby. We are a little squirmy today, so we are going to try her on her back just for a moment. When you pull the flesh out from your rear so you can sit nice and tall, sometimes it helps if you have another blanket to sit on, if thats more comfortable for you. So, you want to place your baby down and take a nice look at her or him, making sure that your baby is comfortable and then begin to settle into your own body. So, you can rest your hands on your thighs or on your knees and gently lower your eyelids so that your gaze is down at your little one, and your eyelids are soft. Gazing at your baby you are going to take five breaths through the nose inhale - exhale, inhale - exhale, inhale - exhale, inhale - exhale, inhale - exhale.
Begin to feel your body settling down, getting comfortable here, your seat resting on the earth, feeling your breath moving softly through your body, while at the same time beginning to consider your baby, and your babys body and breath, maybe even looking for your babys breath in your babys belly. Now, that we have got in centered we are going to go over baby massage.
