Hi. I am Lisa Wilson, Certified Health Counselor here in Northern Virginia. I specialize in family health. I help busy families make healthy food a regular part of their life. The babys first year, you are literally building the cells or the foundation to carry them through their entire life. I think proper nourishment at the first year is the greatest gift you can give your baby. When you are introducing your baby to new foods you want to go slowly. You want to introduce some of the same food three or four days in a row. This will allow you to pinpoint any intolerance your baby may have. Signs to look for when it comes to intolerance are redness around the mouth, the skin rash, irritability, gas, abdominal bloating, frequent waking during the night. If your baby has a severe reaction call your doctor immediately.
