Elizabeth Turner: Hi! I am Elizabeth Turner and I am the Editor-in-Chief in Vegetarian Times Magazine. I am here to talk to you today about how to be a healthy vegetarian.
The first thing I am going to talk about today is the top three reasons that people often give for going vegetarian. We'll talk about how to make sure that you meet all your nutritional needs on a vegetarian diet, which is something you can definitely do. We'll discuss how to avoid becoming a junk food vegetarian, which is very common trap that people fall into when they are beginners, and then we'll discuss how to make a gentle transition into a vegetarian diet.
As with many things, it is definitely a good idea to check in with your doctor before you make any big changes in your diet. Before we get started, I would like to tell you a little bit about myself and the magazine. Even if you are not a vegetarian, you've probably heard of Vegetarian Times, and that's because the magazine is been around since 1974. I've been the Editor for thee years and its been an exiting time to be the Editor, because there has been so much of attention on the idea of vegetarian eating, and in fact, our magazine was just named one of the top 25 fastest growing magazines in America.
So, let's get started. Let's talk about how to be a healthy vegetarian.
