Brian Gunderson: Hi! I am Brian Gunderson with Anderson Windows. In this video series we're going to talk about what you need to know about energy efficient windows. First I'll show you how to tell if your home needs new windows by doing basic inspection, looking for common signs of ageing like warping and drafts. Then I'll show you how to upgrade your current windows by installing a Double-Hung Conversion kit. Next, I'll discuss the different styles and options available in energy efficient windows and Patio doors and how to select the right one for your home. I'll also cover what all the numbers on energy efficient windows mean like solar heat gain coefficient, a new factor, and share with you some basics of overall sustainability. You don't need too much to get started, just a pen and a paper, tape measure and a Double-Hung Conversion kit. This kit can be purchased at most home improvement stores; the size to order is based on the current size of your window. Before we begin let me tell you a little bit about Anderson Windows. Anderson has been making windows since 1903. We pioneered window energy efficiency features since the very beginning and many of those features are now industry standards. In addition, sustainable manufacturing has been a practice of ours since well before the term existed. We're happy to share with you some of the things that we have learned along the way and hope you'll find this information helpful.
Now let's get started, selecting energy efficient for your home.
