Dan Dillard: Hi, I am Dan Dillard of the Burn Prevention Network. Today I am talking about home fire safety and burn prevention.
In this video series, I'll share with you the common causes of fire and burn injuries in your home. We will look at the everyday behaviors and hazards that contribute to these tragedies. Next, I will share tips on how to create a safer home environment. Finally, I will help you prepare a Home Escape Plan, so that you and your family are prepared, should a fire strike. Before we get started, let me tell you a little bit about myself. I have directed the Burn Prevention Network for 25 years. The mission of the Burn Prevention Network is to provide injury prevention education to and advocacy for those at greatest risk.
We do this by educating the public about the burn risk and fire hazards and developing programs to bring about environmental changes in modified behaviors that will prevent these devastating accidents.
