Mark Fuss: Hi! My name is Mark Fuss. I'm the Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Nicolock Paving Stones and Retaining Walls. In this segment, we're going to talk about the planning of your installation. The first decision you need to make is the area that you're going to pave, is it going to be a walkway, a patio, a pool deck, or even your driveway.

The second decision is, are you going to do it yourself, or you want to hire a professional for your installation? If you want to do it yourself you have to take into account the tools that you might need that you probably don't have in your garage. So plate compactor and a wet saw are two examples.

The second thing for a homeowner is how do you excavate the material, and how do you dispose off the material? If you choose to hire a professional for your installation, we have the Nicolock Hardscape Pro Program. Hardscape Pro Contractors have been prescreened and pre-qualified to ensure that you're going to get a good installation.

If you choose to hire a professional for your installation certainly you're going to be interested in the final cost. I can caution you that a lot of what ifs go into that final cost, including the access to the job site, what the material is that needs to be excavated, and how that needs to be disposed off, the shape, the pattern, the color, and other intricacies that go into that final project.

Certainly your qualified professional contractor can help you determine that final price.

Now that we've talked about planning, let's move on to the next step which is the excavation of the soil.
