Kajal Mehta: Hi! Welcome to how to Bollywood dance. My name is Kajal Mehta, this is Priya Pandya, and we are the Managing Directors of Dhoonya Dance. We have a Bollywood inspired, modern, South-Asian dance school in the D.C. Metro area, and we wanted to teach a little bit about what Bollywood is, and how to do some of the most basic dance steps.
Just to give you a little bit of background, Bollywood is the Hindi Film Industry, located in Mumbai, India and it is the largest movie industry in the world. Now, most of these films have song and dance that has become really popular throughout the world. It started out in Europe and now, it's becoming really trendy and popular, and fun for all even in America. So, we just wanted to give a little bit of flavor and a preview to some of our classes, and show you what some of these basic dance steps are so that you can try Bollywood dance out at home.

Looks like fun
Never heard of it before, but it really looks like a lot of fun, and great exercise. The ladies do a super job teaching it.

Great instructions for Bollywood Dance
I've used this to help me teach a class of 7-9 year olds. They loved it and used some of the moves to create their own dances. Thank you so much!

Boring
This is not Bollywood Dancing. They really need to keep up to date with their music and frankly need to train professionally if they want to present themselves as a reputable dance authority.

I commend you on putting up a video. If you really want to see how Bollywood dances are done, I came across an amazing group in New York. They are called AATMA. You can see their work on Youtube or their website. It is www.aatmaperformingarts.com. I saw them live at the Independencee Day parade in NYC and they were absolutely fantastic. Wish others could present Indian dancing the same way.
