Suzanne Minskey: Hi, my name is Suzanne Minskey with Faces by SAM Makeup Artistry. Today I am showing you how to apply a fall makeup look. In this segment, we are going to discuss how to define and how to select the appropriate lip color to complement your fall makeup look.
First of all, you want to start with a lip primer and you just want to dab around the lip line and blend it in. This will cancel out a little bit of natural color to your lips. You really want to work it in and if you have any fine lines around the lips, it will help to smooth those out.
Next, if you want to select a lip liner. I am going to start at the bottom of the lip and apply that a little kind of arc on other side and short feathered strokes down the edge. So you don't want a big strong line because it makes it look too harsh, too false and then you want to fill in the lips a little bit with the lip liner.
Next, you want to select your lip color. For this look I have chosen wine color and it's a slightly warmer wine tone. I just want to warm up the tip a little bit, on the back of your hand and apply to the lips. Now start at the center and kind of dab it in. Don't take it all the way to the edges and don't take it all the way to the corners, because you want to blend that part in with your lip brush.
Now, you want your lip brush you want it to be a short, stiff bristled with a bit of a dome shape and you want to start at one corner and kind of just pull the color with the brush. Then a quick swap along very edge to blend it with the liner, top it off with a nice, clear gloss. I am going to put a little bit on the back of my hand here and I am going to use my lip brush to pick it up.
I am going to start with the center of the lip and just gently dab it on. You don't want to swipe the whole mouth because then it will mix with your lipstick and your lip color will start to bleed. So you just want to put a little bit on the center part.
And that's how to define and how to select the appropriate lip color to complement your fall makeup look.
