Becky Canale: Hi! I am Becky Canale, National Client Services Coordinator of Paws With A Cause. Today we are going to be talking about people with disabilities and Assistance Dog etiquette.

First, I'll discuss the basics of what a service animal is. Service animals are individually trained to work with and perform tasks, so you want to make sure you choose the right one for you. Next, Ken Kirsch, Training Manager for Paws With A Cause will cover how to interact with people with disabilities. Many people are intimidated to approach someone with a service dog, and there are a few things you want to know before you do. And then Ken will talk about Assistance Dog etiquette. Assistance Dogs are great companions to their owners and there are a few things to keep in mind when working with them. And finally, I'll break down the Americans with Disability Act and provide some information that will help you understand the law.

Before we begin, let me tell you a little bit about myself and the Paws With A Cause Organization. I've been working with the organization and Assistance Dog users for 15 years and have 20 years of experience training dogs and people. At Paws With A Cause, our vision is to encourage independence for people with disabilities by sustaining and strengthening our position as the nation's leading provider of quality Assistance Dogs. So let's get started discussing Assistance Dog Etiquette.
