Hi, I am Tracy with Nutrition is Healing. Today, we are going to make trail mix. Lets get started making a trail mix high in antioxidants and Omega-3s. Two cups of walnuts which are really high in omega-3s, and can help decrease inflammation, two cups of pumpkin seeds which are also high in Omeaga-3s and zinc, which is good with that standard American diet, to counteract the standard American diet. Two cups of a high fiber cereal, something that kids would like, and eight ounces of dried blueberries, which are also high in antioxidants and are delicious. This is a nice balance of sweet and salty, which kids love. Its easy to make and fun for kids to make. Now, you can make your own trail mix for the week, an easy portable snack, quarter cup of the trail mix added to the snack bag, and you can have them ready. Thats how you make trail mix, high in Omega-3s, and antioxidants, a nice nourishing snack for you and your children.
