Kitchen Sink Installation - Removal of Kitchen Faucet
Gary Uhl from American Standard demonstrates how to remove your old kitchen faucet.
Transcripts
Gary Uhl: Hello! My name is Gary Uhl from American standard. Today, we are going to discuss how to remove your old kitchen faucet. Before we get started, here are the tools you'll need, an adjustable wrench, a basin wrench, a screwdriver and a container and rag to catch in the excess water.
Now, we are ready to get started. First, shut off the hot and cold supply stops. Next, disconnect the supply hoses using the adjustable wrench. If the faucet has a side spray, disconnect it and pull it up through the top of the sink.
Now from the top, remove the handles and the spout using the screwdriver. From below, loosen the mounting nuts on all components with the basin wrench. Back up on top, remove all escutcheon and drop the valve body assemblies from underneath of the sink.
Now we are done removing our kitchen faucet. Each faucet is a little different, but these are the basic steps that you will follow.
