Gary Uhl: Hello! I'm Gary Uhl from American Standard. Today I want to talk about picking a kitchen faucet based on valving, construction, and finish.
First and foremost, select a kitchen faucet that has ceramic disc valves. These are made of a material that's near diamond in hardness. It will last a lifetime, never wear out and actually gets better with use. Second, be sure to look for all metal construction. Your kitchen is a really busy area and you want to make sure that you have a faucet and will hold up to daily use and abuse. And finally pick a finish that is either chrome or PVD that's stands for Physical Vapor Deposition, finishes such as Nickel or stainless steel.
Our tests have shown that these are very durable finishes and hold up to daily use and cleaning. The right kitchen faucet will give you a lifetime a trouble-free use and make any kitchen task that much easier.
