Richard Posluszny: Most reviewers agree that the seats in the Chevrolet Equinox are comfortable, but they disagree over which is the better pick; cloth versus leather. It's really about which you prefer. But that's why we are here to help, because in the age-old cloth versus leather seating debate, the Equinox definitely wins with the cloth interior.

Now while the leather in the Equinox is okay as we've experienced in other tests, it's still not quite as good as the cloth. For instance, you see here in the cloth it's got this nice kind of textured feel. It's kind of like a pair of basketball shorts which may or may not appeal to you. But the one nice thing that I like about this car is see this red stitch that runs along the bolstering here, it's a very nice subtle touch. Either way you're going to get a pair of nice comfortable seats that are good on the long haul.

In the Chevrolet Equinox's backseat, it's pretty clear that they're sitting for three good sized adults. Now while it doesn't have optional third row as the Toyota RAV4 does, it doesn't really matter because there is still good space here.

There are two sets of LATCH connectors in the backseat, but if you have two car seats in the back, odds are that a third person just won't fit. One nice feature that the Chevrolet Equinox has is that not many SUVs have an adjustable rear seat. Check this out. Right, are you ready for this? Oh, yeah! It makes things a little bit more comfortable and you can even get a little bit cargo room if you slide them forward. Not a bad little feature.

So that's the seating in the Equinox. We know it's comfortable, has plenty of space, and it has a couple of nice touches. But those touches don't stop with some stitching on the seats. Take a look at what cool gizmos the Equinox has in our interior features video.
