Richard Posluszny: In its interior technology one, the Chevy Equinox can meet your needs, but when you load the car with options, things can get tricky.

Now you can see why. The Chevy Equinox has a very button centric interior. As you can see, things make it a little confusing pretty fast. I mean we've got radio buttons here with your DVD as well, settings are through here. Then we have the navigation cluster here. One thing that's a little bit peculiar and doesn't quite make sense is that most cars happen to have their trip computer buttons in this region, somewhere in here where the Equinox has it here. It doesn't quite add up.

Base models of the Equinox come with a relatively good amount of equipment in them. We have a single zone climate controls here. Inside this center console we have an AUX input jack and it also is XM satellite Radio Ready.

When it comes to the optional nav system as we see here, it's actually a pretty good unit. It works pretty fast and it's easy to enter an address. Now while it doesn't feature a QWERTY keyboard, it does have everything done alphabetically. So you have you're A, B, C, D from left to right.

One nice little nifty feature is you can actually pull up the weather information up on your dash. So you don't have to be searching on your phone in traffic and try to find the weatherchannel.

com. And for the kiddies, there is an optional rear seat entertainment system which features two DVD flip-up monitors so you can kind of throw your kids back there, put the TV on and just kind of have them relax.

So there you have it. The Equinox can be essentially equipped like ice cream, plain vanilla or like a banana split with all the fix-ins. It's up to you and your budget, but if tech isn't as important as cargo space, check out our other videos. You will want to hear what we think about its utility.
