Richard Posluszny: If you need tons of room for your gear, then the Chevy Equinox may not meet your needs. Let's take a look at how much cargo the Equinox can hold.

Now cargo space in the front area is actually pretty adequate. Right here we've got this front little cubby where I can fit something like a wallet or an easy pass and we've got another little cubby right in front of the center console where you can fit a telephone or something like that, pretty easy to grab. Additionally, the two cup holders here may fit things that are large and small. We have our standard coffee cup mug here.

But where things get a little bit interesting is where Chevy decided to make these center consoles big enough to fit, a 15-inch laptop. Why would you need that is beyond me, but hey, if you need it, it's there.

Now let's talk about rear cargo space. It's definitely good, but it's not going to blow your mind by any means. With the rear seats up, you get about 31 cubic feet of cargo space which isn't that bad. You can definitely fit a ton of groceries back there and even a few suitcases. With the rear seats folded down though, the Chevy Equinox has about 64 cubic feet of space. Although it's good, it's still getting beat by the Toyota RAV4 and the Honda CR-V.

So that's the cargo space on the Equinox. While the other guys do have a bit more space, they can't exactly match the other features that the Equinox has such as good gas mileage and nicer interior details. But if you want to hear more about the Equinox, make sure to check out our other videos.
