Jamie Page Deaton: Let's talk about how the GMC Terrain handles passengers, including little passengers in car seats, but let's start with the front seat.
Now car reviewers say that there's plenty of room in the Terrain's front seat. As you can see I've got plenty of space. Most reviewers agree that the seats are comfortable.
Now the Terrain we've here came with a lot of optional features. So we have power seat adjustments and even memory seats, but the best Terrain comes with power height adjustment and even power lumbar adjustment. That's something that you have to pay extra for in most other compact SUVs including the Chevy Equinox. The Terrain has a standard tilt and telescoping steering wheel which makes it easy to find a comfortable driving position.
In the backseat of the Terrain, there is space for two car seats, but when you have two car seats in there, it makes the middle seat really tight, and that's typical for the class, but odds are, if you have two car seats in the backseat no one else will be riding there.
One nice thing is there are two sets of LATCH connectors and they are really easy to reach, which makes putting the car seats in and out pretty easy.
Most car reviewers say that the Terrain's backseat is one of its best features. I'm pretty average sized and I've got tons of space. Even taller people up to 6 feet will have plenty of room.
One of the things that's really nice about the Terrain and something that you don't often see in the class is that the rear seat slides. If you have smaller kids like in car seats you can move it forward so that they are easier to reach, but when you're carrying adults or larger kids and want more legroom you can just slide it back to give more legroom. It's handy and it's a feature that you don't see in other SUVs like the Ford Escape.
So now you know that the GMC Terrain can handle four or five adults or two adults in two car seats. If you routinely carry more people than that you'll want to check out the Toyota RAV4. It has an optional third row seat, but you should know that reviewers complain that that third row seat can get a little bit cramped.
If you needed space for more than two car seats, you'll want to check out the Chevy Equinox. It has three sets of LATCH connectors.
Now that you know how the Terrain handles all types of passengers, check out our other videos so you can see how it handles cargo, how it drives, and its interior features.
