Jamie Page Deaton: Now let's talk about the seating in the Ford Escape. We'll start here in the front seat. Now, reviewers say that the front seats are comfortable and have plenty of room but a few complain that on the base model they aren't as versatile as they could be.
Now, we have an Escape Limited, so we've got a power adjustable driver's seat, plus an adjustable steering wheel. You don't get all that on the base model. Now the backseat gets higher marks for most reviewers because there's plenty of space back here. You can fit three adults for short trips. There is plenty of legroom and there is even space for two car seats.
However, like the front seats, the back seat loses points because it's not very adjustable. Others in the class, like the GMC Terrain offer a backseat that slides backwards and forwards, so you can increase legroom for your passengers. Another downside, is that the backrest in the Escape isn't adjustable and in the competition, some of the backrests recline which makes it much more comfortable for passengers.
So the bottom-line on the seating in the Ford Escape is while there is plenty of room and the seats are comfortable, the competition has seats that are more adjustable, so it's worth checking that out.
