Jamie Page Deaton: If you're looking at a Mazda CX-7, there are a couple of other SUVs that you may want to consider. Just keep in mind it's tough to find an affordable SUV that's as fun to drive as the CX-7 is.

If you don't want to spend more and you need more cargo space than the CX-7 offers, check out the Hyundai Santa Fe. It's a midsize SUV that fits most budgets and its fuel economy is almost as good as the CX-7's. However, reviewers do point out that it's boring to drive, so that's a trade-off you'll have to think about.

The Honda CR-V also costs about the same as the CX-7, but it has a lot more cargo space. The CR-V even has better fuel economy. However, the styling is a little bit more bland, and reviewers say that the CR-V just isn't is much fun to drive.

The Chevy Equinox is another compact SUV you may want to look at. It has more space inside than the CX-7 and better fuel economy all for about the same price. The Equinox also has a longer power train warranty than the CX-7 does. But again, most reviewers point out that the Equinox just isn't as much fun to drive.

The bottom-line is the Mazda CX-7 makes it great choice for people who want a sporty feel with their family car. Though its fuel economy and cargo space can't match to what competitors offer, it's a great choice if you want to have a little fun while you're dropping the kids off at soccer practice.
