While the GLK has a low starting price for a Mercedes, there are others in the class that costs less, one of those is the Volvo XC60. It starts at about $2000 less than the GLK does, plus it has more cargo space and a bigger backseat, so it maybe a better choice for families. If you're looking for a better fuel economy, check out the Acura RDX. In addition to having better fuel economy than the GLK does, it also costs about $2000 less.

Now, if you're willing to spend more, you can get the BMW X3, it has standard all-wheel drive, some of the best cargo space in the class and a more comfortable backseat than the GLK does. Plus, if you're shopping the GLK for the prestige factor, the BMW should keep you pretty happy there.

So the bottom-line on the Mercedes Benz GLK is, it has good performance and is a stylish SUV from a luxury automaker. Still, you can get better practicality and a lower price by shopping the competition.
