Richard Posluszny: Sure Boxsters are all about performance, but that's pretty meaningless if the seats are uncomfortable or don't hold you in place. Let's see how the seats in the Boxster Spyder hold on.
Believe it or not, these are the standard seats in the Boxster Spyder. And that's pretty crazy, because they're carbon fiber-backed and they have intense bolstering that will keep you in place, no matter what kind of turn you go into. Another nice little touch is that they have a microfiber insert that'll make sure you stick to seat. But if these aren't really your kind of thing, you can option the car with other kind of seats that are a little bit more conservative. The problem is though that it'll add weight that Porsche engineers decided they want to take off. If you're looking at Boxster or Boxster S and you like what you see here, you can option the Boxster or Boxster S with similar sport bucket seats. But keep in mind that most reviewers say the standard seats are more comfortable and they do just as good of a job overall. I know what you guys might be thinking. You might be saying, hey, this car looks pretty cramped. Keep in mind I'm 6'8" tall. If you're an average-sized driver, you'd probably fit just fine. Obviously, when the top is down, I don't think it isn't much of an issue. When the top is up, things get a little bit tight. For example, my head touches the top of the ceiling and it can be a little bit annoying. My advice, just make sure you drive at the top-down on a sunny day. Even in a car that's all about performance, good seats are key and the Boxster Spyder delivers. The seats are comfortable enough and hold you in place during aggressive maneuver. The cabin isn't expensive, but this is a sports car; small cabins are normal. If you want a little more comfort, go for the Boxster or Boxster S. Now that you know how the seats in the Boxster Spyder are, check out our other videos, especially the one on interior features.
