Transcripts
Ric Edelman: Think you have the perfect portfolio? Think again. Even the best needs tweaking from time to time; the end of the year is the perfect time to look at your investments to make sure they're still right for you. What should you look for? Start with changes in your life. Overtime, everything changes; your health, income marital status and more, they all have an impact on your investment needs. Next, think about your goals. Maybe you want to travel or buy another home, maybe college or wedding costs or so in your future, if your plans are changing, your portfolio may need to change as well.
Also, consider your feelings about risk. Maybe risk didn't bother you before, but now, maybe your view has changed and your portfolio should reflect that. Investment changes don't have to be dramatic, but even small adjustments can make a big difference over many years. So take the time to look at your portfolio. A perfect portfolio after all is a work-in-progress.
