Yummy in The Tummy Mummy Cookies
Hershey Kitchens director Linda Stahl shares her recipe for spooky Mummy cookies perfect for any Halloween party.
Transcripts
Linda Stahl: With the Halloween season here you will want to get your family in the spooky mood by whipping up a badge of yummy mummy cookies.
To get started we are going to mix together our butter or margarine softened, sugar and the vanilla. Mix this just until everything is well blended, add our eggs, beat until everything is well blended, stir together our dry ingredients all-purpose flour, Hershey's coco, baking soda, and the salt.
And then we can start adding them to the butter mixture. You don't want to put it all at one time and then beat until these are moistened. And the last section, we are going to now add the chips. You are going to take your dough one piece, that's about the size of a walnut, just start working it out into a carrot shape, it's about 3.
5 inches long.
Now for the head you will need a smaller piece of dough, about the size of a grape. We will bake for 8 to 9 minutes of until set. So now I am all ready to make the coating for our cookies. Place one bag of chips and a tablespoon shortening, in a microwave safe bowl, heat for one minute at 50% power, stir, and if the chips aren't melted heat again for 30 seconds and stir.
Drizzle the melt chocolate over your cookie at an angle until you get the entire thing coated, slide it off on to your wax paper, add two mini chips for eyes, wait for the coating to set and these are ready to eat. Enjoy!
