Chris Maxa: Hi! My name is Chris Maxa. I am the General Manager of Kite Loft, here in Ocean City, Maryland. I have about 15 years of kiting experience and for about half of those, I have been getting paid to do it. I have attended various kite seminars, summits, trade shows and festivals, both as a merchant and as a participant. Today, we are going to learn how to fly a kite.

We are going to show you everything you need to know to get started in kite flying. We are going to help you pick the right kite, show you where to fly the kite, show you how to put your kite together. How to judge the wind? Whats appropriate, whats not for kiting and most importantly having a sense of adventuring in flying that kite?

Any materials you may need, we are going to touch on those as well. We are going to show you what the kite includes? What does foil mean, a line, a tail, windsock, anything you need to have fun. Inherently with kiting there are some safety issues. We are going to over those as well. Anything that may get in the way of you having that fun with your kite, human factors, power lines, trees, any other obstacles, turbulence or weather of course. So, if you are ready, let's get started and go fly a kite.
