Chris Maxa: Hi! My name is Chris Maxa with the Kite Loft and today, we are going to learn how to fly a kite.

In this segment, we are going to talk about, where is a great place to fly a kite? There are numerous options for kite flying, any place that has an urban field, beach, parking lot, park; wonderful kiting spots. There are just several factors you have to consider before you go out and fly. After you pick the kite thats right for you, you are going to want to fly it. Now, where do we go? Turbulence is a factor whenever determining where to fly a kite. You are going to want to make sure that you have a good clear run of wind from behind you. So, you are going to want to choose a spot that has about a quarter to a half-a-mile of clearing behind you. Like I said, a beach is perfect a nice open park, a nice open farm field, they all serve as great spots to go flying your kite. You also want a factor in safety. Thats pretty important. You want to choose the spot that has no obstacles thats not going to yourself or anyone hurt. Safety is important because when it comes to kite flying it's an enjoyable sport and you just want to make sure that you maximize your fun without putting anyone at risk. Power lines are bad news, trees; they can eat your kite as Charlie Brown certainly found out. You are also going to want to make sure that you clear of any weather situations that may arise, so take note of that whenever you go fly. Whenever you fly and you have a perfect place to fly, feel free to get started.

In the next segment, we are going to show you how to put your kite together, assemble it and any anatomy thats important in flying that kite.
