John Linden: Hi! I'm John Linden, Master ASE Certified Technician and North America Training Manager for Midas International Corporation. Today I'm going to show you how to reduce the amount of fuel you currently used. First I'll talk about the importance of tire maintenance and inflation. Next I'll discuss wheel alignment, taken into consideration some of the roads we travel on. If your wheels are not properly aligned, rolling resistance increases which uses more fuel and causes highly emissions. Then I'll cover engineer filters, it's an important part of a vehicle that should be check for restrictions every time you have the oil changed.
Next I'll talk about the importance of fuel system cleaning, once a year or every 15,000 miles or it is recommended by your vehicle manufacturer and changing your spark plugs to avoid wasting fuel, and finally I'll discuss some of the little things you can do every day, reduce the amount of fuel you use. I'm aborting quick acceleration from a stop sign or a red light to drive in the speed limit. These tips will help you save fuel while you drive. When working on your vehicle safety is important, you want to make sure you're wearing the proper safety gear and before beginning any work make sure the car is turned off and the engine is cool. Before we began let me tell you a little bit about Midas International Corporation, and myself. Midas has been serving passenger cars and light trucks since 1956. All we started on in the muffler and exhaust business; we've evolved into a full service repair and maintenance center, doing everything from brakes, oil changes, scheduled maintenance to tires alignments, and advanced engine diagnostics.
As for me I'm a former high school and college automotive instructor. I currently have 15 ASE certifications and I'm very proud to say that I've been with Midas for over 24 years as a trainer. So let's get started, save you some money at the gas pump.
