Laurie Granger: Hello, my name is Laurie Granger, and today we are talking about riding an indoor stationery bike.

Right now, we are going to talk about racing or sprinting on that bike. Make sure there is enough resistance as you move from your warm up; add some resistance as your leg speed increases. Take your hands out wide on the handle bars, allowing your chest to open up, keep your shoulders down and your backside stays steep in the seat. As your leg speed increases, if your backside starts bouncing, add a little resistance. Your arms are soft, your elbows are slightly bent, your chin, your gaze right over the flywheel, the only wheel on that stationery bike. Your abdominals are turned on and as you build that speed, keep that resistance going. Upper body stays relax, heart rate starts heading up, and here we are in a race.
