com and a professional teaching chef. As a graduate of Le Cordon Bleu, many people think that when I snack, I snack on croissants, something really fancy. In fact, one of my favorite snacks is traditional Chex Mix. It's salty, it's crunchy, it's delicious and it's really simple to make. Let's have a look. For the crunch, you of course need chex cereal. I use two-and-a-half cups of Wheat Chex, and two-and-a-half cups of Rice Chex. You can use any mix you want. You need 5 cups total. I also add-in 1 cup of Cheerios because these get really nice and salty and good. I add a cup of peanuts and a cup of pretzels. Just give those a good stir and mix everything together.
To season up our Chex Mix, I have 6 tablespoons of melted butter. This is unsalted butter. I am going to add to it 4 teaspoons of Worcestershire sauce, 1 teaspoon of celery salt, and 1 teaspoon of onion salt, and half-a-teaspoon of garlic powder. Just mix that together and we're going to drizzle it over the Chex Mix in the pan. Stir this all around quite low until you can see that every piece has a little bit of glisten to it. That means, it's got a little bit of butter and some of the seasonings on the outside.
Once everything is really well coated, we're going to bake the Chex Mix for about 40 minutes. You need to stir it every 10. So set your alarm for 10 minutes to start out with. After 40 minutes, all of my Chex pieces are really nicely quoted with the seasoning mix and they're good and brown too. This is a really simple dish. The only thing hard about it is not eating at all. And even though it's not fancy, you can still serve it in the fancy dish. Bon Apptit!
