Hi! I am Josh Dubois. We have been talking about the basics of bartending. Now, I am going to show you what liquors you are going to need in your own home bar to make all the drinks you possibly want.

First, you are going to want to start off with the vodka. You are going to need to have a more expensive vodka and the preferably a lesser expensive vodka, which we called either a rail vodka or a well vodka. The reason for that is because, in bars you generally see, the bartender pull it out of their speed rack, which is right here on the bar and just a tip if you are ever in a bar and you see a special that s like $1.

50 Wells, $1.

50 Rails, that s what that is.

Can t tell you how many times I have had people come up and order and a Well Bud Light and usually they will just get a small cup of Bud Light when they do that. So, you are going to want to have vodka. You are also going to want to have rum.

There are several different types of rum. There is light rum and dark rum, it really doesn t matter just get a rum. You are going to want to have gin. Gin is important to have because it goes in lot of martinis and stuffs like that.

You are going to want to have tequila and tequila goes in, margarita that is a great shooter. You are going to want to have a couple of different kinds of whiskeys. Whiskeys go in everything from manhattans to mainly mixed with Coke or Sprite. Now, let's talk a little bit about some other liquors that you are going to want to have around. You are going to have around amaretto. You are going to want to have around some schnapps. Schnapps is just liquor with sugar in it and these are used for lot of mixed drinks, a lot of shooters and you want to keep them around just because you can never really have to purchase them that much because you don t use that much of them and they are pretty cheap and they are great to keep around is because you are going to want to mix them in lots of drinks.

So, you are going to want to have a peach schnapps, a butterscotch schnapps, a crme de menthe, crme de cacao, you are going to want to have an apple schnapps and also a melon schnapps and from these schnapps, you are going to be able to make all sorts of fruity drinks, all sorts of fruity shots. You are also going to want to have some liquor around, if you want that is flammable and this is for other reasons other than it tastes good because it really doesn t taste that good, but it's flammable and you can use it in the lot of flaming drinks which if you actually know what you are doing are really, really cool.

You are going to want to have Drambuie around. You are going to also have Grand Marnier around. Kahlua is going to be used in a lot of drinks, and they go with vodka. Frangelico is another great liquor to have around and you are going to use a lot of Baileys cream or an Irish cream liquor. Now, Irish cream liquor is the one liquor that you can get the generic brand of, you don t have to get the actual Baileys if you don t want to. You are also going to want to have Jagermeister around and you are going to want to have either Cointreau, or way less expensive is triple sec.

Now, those are going to be used when you make such things as margaritas and Cointreau is going to be used in some other mixed drinks. It's your choice which one you have around and it's really completely up to you.

You are also going to want to have Slow Gin around and perhaps a goldschlager. Now, none of these liquors are in absolute necessity, but if you do want to have a complete home bar and you want to be able to make pretty much any drink under the sun, you are going to want to have pretty much all of these liquors. You don t need to go out and buy them all at once, go buy the ones that you use the most at once and then slowly acquire the rest of them over time. Once you have done that, then you will be able to make pretty much any drink under the sun. Next, we are going to talk about the perishable items that you need for your own home bar.
