Hi, I am Josh Dubois. Today, we are making vodka drinks and right now, I am going to make a Long Island Iced Tea. Now, this is not necessarily just a vodka drink. In fact, it has the most liquors in it of quite possibly any drink. A little history on the Long Island Iced Tea is the Long Island Iced Tea came about during prohibition when the bootleggers would take any and all combinations of liquor and put them all in a glass and disguise it with a little bit of coke, so that they could walk down the street and look like they are drinking iced tea but they are actually drinking a liquor drink.
So, what you are going to do is you are going to serve this in a high ball glass because there is lot of liquor that goes into this drink. You are going to fill it up to a very tip top with ice and you are going to use equal parts of vodka, rum, gin, tequila and triple sec. The way that you remember this is it is basically, all of the clear or semi clear liquors. You are not using any sort of whiskey or anything. There are all the clear liquors that go into this drink. So, you are going to use one ounce of each and now, this one of the drinks that if you are a really good bartender, you can pick up all four bottles at once and pour all four of them in at once. We are not going to do that today, because we are just going to show you how this actually goes together. So, what are you going to do, one, two vodka, one, two rum, one, two gin, one, two tequila and one, two triple sec. Now, as you can see that is all liquor. This is a very, very potent drink and there is not much that goes into this drink that is not liquor. Now, you can either use, with this you can use the juice of one quarter lemon and you can just put all that juice in there or you can use sour mix and you use about the same amount of Sour mix. Then, you are going to top it off with coke. This drink, you garnish with a lemon and you are going to serve with a straw. That s how you make a Long Island Iced Tea. Next, we are going to show you how to make a Vodka Grasshopper.

Most long island tea aficionados don't want tequila in their drink.

This guy is a pretty shocking bartender. A Long Island or any drink which has several spirits doesn't need to be strong, it needs to be balanced correctly. I use half an ounce or 14ml of each spirit, shake them with ice and fresh lemon wedges/sour mix in a boston tin (shaker) and then strain the mix in to a fresh glass with ice and coke already in. This creates a layered effect, looks a immensely better and earns you way more tips, especially with a 5-pour technique. Sack this guy. He suc
