Nick was born and raised in Washington, DC and received his Bachelors Degree in economics from Pomona College in California. Hi, I am Nick Friedman, founder of College Hunks Hauling Junk, the junk removal specialist. Today, we are talking about organizing strategies, as well as safe lifting, and moving techniques. We just went over how to organize your garage, now; we are going to talk about how to environmentally dispose off hazardous material. The most important thing to do when you are dealing with hazardous material is resist the urge to put it out with the regular trash. Number one, its illegal, number two, its harmful to the environment, which is most important. So, what you want to do is separate the hazardous material by subject. So, youve got your paint cans, the propane tanks, your aerosol cans, your yard chemicals, your gasoline tubs, and hazardous material recycling differs by county. So, you want to contact your county administrator to find out exactly what the protocol is for the type of hazardous material you have. There are also websites you can go to, where you can actually put in your zip code, and the type of material you have, whether its the car batteries or motor oil, and theyll give you a list of the nearby recycling centers that are free to you. And thats how you get rid of hazardous material environmentally. Now, we are going to go upstairs and talk about how to organize your attic.
