Hello, we are Avi Career Training -- a Beauty, Cosmetology, Esthetics and Massage Therapy School in Great Falls, Virginia. We are happy to demonstrate how to do a facial treatment. After cleansing, you need to exfoliate to remove the dead skin layer. We recommend using a product containing enzymes because it tends to be less reactive on most skin types. You may also consider using Alpha Hydroxyl Acid- it’s usually determined by the skin care therapist. We are now going to apply the fruit enzyme peel. It should usually be just about a dime size; however the amount may vary depending on the product you’re using (it’s a good idea to check the instructions for the suggested amount). You may either apply the product using your fingertip or a brush. I will begin demonstrating how to apply using your fingertip. You can cover the neck area or just the face. Now, I will show you how to apply using the brush. Take the brush and dab it into your product, then simply apply to the skin- making sure you cover all areas. Depending on the product you’re using, it might be suggested to massage the product in, or let the product penetrate into your skin for five to ten minutes. This specific product recommends doing a facial massage. Keep in mind that circular motions work best in order to slough off the dead cells. You can lightly wet your finger tips, as often as you need, if you feel your hands are getting too tacky to work with. In our spa, we use different massages to specifically tailor each clients’ needs. It would be too long and difficult for me to demonstrate such massages so instead I will show you a basic massage for you to do at home. You want to make sure you are covering all areas including the neck. We are now going to remove the product using the sponges. Soak the sponges in your bowl and squeeze the excess of water. Just like the cleanser, you want to remove the product working upwards on the neck - to the chin, cheeks, nose, forehead, and around the eye areas. Again, soak your sponges and wash out the excess of water, and make sure you get the entire product application off the skin- working from neck to forehead, as I just demonstrated. After exfoliating, you need to prepare the skin for masking.
