Emily: Hi, I am Emily at Masters Costumes; we are doing a scurvy pirate face right now. I have shown you how to apply beard effects, now we are going to show you how to use existing lines in your face to accentuate the weathered, scurvy look that you get from a buck in your pirate face.

What I am using today is actually a brown eye-brow pencil; you want to consider the color of your base or of your complexion, if you are not using a base, and just go a couple of shades darker because what we are actually doing is we are applying shadow to highlight areas that are furrowed and angry-looking, so, what we are going to do with this is, like I said, really utilize what we already have.

So, we are going to take our pencil, or you could use any type of cream make-up in a brush, if you are comfortable with that and have our model make all types of cool faces.

Can you make a really mean face for me? A real mean, we are talking we are going to trace along the lines that you make when you furrow your brow and look really angry, so make as angrier face as possible. You just often think really mean and horrible. You are just going to really trace those existing lines and you really are you are making a very bold, contrasting lines. We are going to blend it a little bit later, but for right now we want a lot of really scurvy, mean effects and its going to follow the natural creases that occur when you make an angry face, so, that even when you are relaxed, you are still going to look like you are really angry.

The shadow is going to draw attention away from the happy parts of your face and really make for an angry effect. Going underneath the eyes is good and just tracing all the lines that appear when you make that gruff, furrowed brawl face. We are elongating the nasal labial fold appear, up here past the nostril because thats what happens when you make a gore face. We dont need to bring it down too far because we have the moustache, if you do not have the prosthetic there, then you could go ahead and bring it down and do the corners of the mouth as well.

Generally, we will, do a lot more with the brow on the fore-head, however Im going to do some gore techniques afterwards, we are actually going to turn this from a scurvy, mean pirate into a zombie pirate. So, we are going to be showing some gore techniques on the forehead coming up next. We will go ahead and blend this with a latex sponge or with your hand if its clean. And you just want to tap it; you dont want to obliterate those ones. And then to set it, you would use the powder in the same technique that we reviewed in the last section. Okay, we are going to be doing gore technique here, next, so, stay tuned.
