Transcripts
Hi, my name is Cheryl Cullina and I'm a cardio kickbox instructor. Today were going to talk about cardio kickboxing techniques. One of the basic punching techniques is a cross. So, lets talk about the cross. Come to right combat stance for me, legs shoulder distance-and-a-half apart, were in guard. A cross comes off the back arm, its a straight punch, and we are targeting the same place as we did with the jab; the nose and chin area. So, the cross comes off the back arm, arm shoulder height, parallel to the floor, the fist rotates 90, palm facing down, and remember that fist, fingers rolled down, thumb tightly wrapped around the fingers. Core stability, important, knees soft, never lock them out and never lock out that elbow. So, we have got your jab to the nose or the chin and the cross coming from the back arm, its a very powerful punch, make sure you lift the heel, you get the whole body into it. Thats our cross.
