Hi, my name is Cheryl Cullina and I'm a cardio kickbox instructor. I would like to go over some basic techniques for cardio kickboxing, and now I'm going to bring you another punch called the hook. Lets take our position to a front combat stance; arms in guard. And the hook is a circular punch. It comes through the midline; we stop just past the midline of the body. Palm faces down, heel lifts, and the body rotates. Your arm is parallel to the floor once again, and shoulder height. As you take this hook on, contract your biceps, delts and chest so that you can get some power into that hook. Be aware, never overextend the punch, never throw it too far, keep the shoulder safe, keep the elbow safe. That's our hook, lets move on.
