Hi, my name is Stephanie Gardner and this Windy Barnes. We are hairstylists here at Salon Nordine. Windy has 21 years of experience and I have 21 years of experience. Today, we are going to be working on clients Jerome, Shane and Somer. We will be taking you from the steps of washing, cutting, razoring, French braiding and styling. So, let us get started.
Today, we are going to be talking about shampooing. This is my client Somer and we are going to analyze her hair before we get started. Somer is a swimmer, so she has a lot of chlorine build up on her hair. So, we are going to start with a clarifying shampoo and then we are going to proceed to condition with a deep, intensive conditioner. So, let us get started.
Okay, when we get started, we are going to use about a quarter size of clarifying shampoo and we are going to emulsify it with water. We are going to shampoo in a circular motion. With Somer s hair, we are going to do a second shampoo, to make sure we can get that chlorine build-up out of the hair. Be careful not to tangle the hair. Chlorinated hair severely tangles. After shampooing, you are going to rinse gently. With children, you want to make sure that all of the shampoo is rinsed off the entire scalp to prevent flaking. Next, we are going to apply conditioner, massage that into the hair. Regular conditioner can sit between two and three minutes and then proceed to rinsing it out.
Next, we will be detangling Somer s hair and we will be moving into a child s haircut.
