Host: What is the Russell 1000 Index?
David Marotta: The Russell 1000 Index is the 1000 largest companies in America. It is a cap weighted index, so it is very much like the S&P 500, except its a little bit broader index because it includes twice as many companies in it. So it is also used as a proxy like the S&P 500 for what is large cap stocks are doing. But the Russell 1000 is not as well known as the Russell 2000.
