Host: What are dinner event opportunities?
Gloria MacDonald: There are also lots of dinner event opportunities. There are special things where there will be eight women who come to a dinner and eight men that come to a dinner. Normally speaking, these things are well-planned so that there are equal numbers of men and women. That's the business of these people and obviously, it is going to cost you money and generally speaking, these things are at nicer restaurants, they might include wine tasting and things like that. So you are going to pay a little bit more. The caliber of people that tend to be at these are slightly higher, partly because the cost is higher and partly because they tend to be at nice restaurants. So you are likely to meet similar caliber people to yourself and in terms of a comfort level and personal security, particularly, if you are a woman, at least you are in a group, you are in a public place, so there is a level of comfort and security there.
Sometimes, depending upon the service and this is something you might really want to look in to has the service pre-qualified the people who are going to be at the dinner event? Have they interviewed the people that are going to be at the dinner event? Are the people at the dinner event the same age range you are? Obviously, if you are 35 years old, you don't want to be at a dinner event with 55-60 year old people and vice-versa. So look into those things and make sure you understand what you are getting for your money, are there extras included? So if you are paying $65 for the dinner event, does that include the wine or is that going to be extra? Does it include tips? Just make sure you understand how the entire service operates, but again, get out there and try these things and enjoy it, have fun.
