Host: How do I cope with a breakup?

Gloria MacDonald: Sometimes, breakups are very painful and we can't help that. For the most part, most of us don't ever want to hurt someone else and nor do we want to feel hurt, but sometimes, it is going to happen. If the breakup is particularly painful to you, one of things you can do is seek professional help. Go to a therapist, a psychologist, a psychiatrist and get some professional help on just working through some of those issues and some of the pain that you are feeling, but if you get angry and vindictive and spiteful, that's not going to help you get through the pain. That's just going to create more pain for you and the angrier you are and the more spiteful and vindictive you are, the more it is going to hurt you and it is really not going to hurt the other person anywhere near as much as it is going to hurt you. So for your own good, let go of the anger and the resentment and all those things, move on as much as you can, honor yourself, know that there is somebody else that's wonderful, that's better for you out there and wish that other person all the best in their future dating experiences.
