Do opposites attract?

The question of whether or not opposites attract is an age long question and people are on both sides of this fence. The thing is, in some areas I think opposites really do attract. Take for example, introverts and extroverts. Do a little exercise, write down the names of ten couples you know, the man, the woman and then go back through those ten couples and see if you can identify whether one or the other is an introvert or an extrovert.

I think you will find that 75% or more of the time or greater of the time that you will find that opposites do attract because one of those partners is definitely the extrovert and one of those partners is definitely the introvert and that s okay, but in some areas of life, we are going to be attracted to someone who is the opposite for us because naturally, we are just looking for balance. So, if you are a way off the scale, let s say, you are highly, highly spontaneous, you might end up being attracted to someone who is really, really a planner and really wants everything in order and organized. But at the end of the day, those very things that attracted you because of looking for that balance are going to be the very things that cause turmoil and friction in your relationship.

So, it is really important to understand when those opposites attracting is a good thing and something you can live with and when those opposites attracting are really going to be in the long run, a big challenge and strain on your relationship.
