Host: What is the average cost of public versus private college?

Jerome Cole: The National average for public schools and this is tuition, room and board is around $12,000. The average cost to tuition, room and board for a private institution is at around $29,000, so huge difference there. So, I would say to you consumers buyer beware, be careful, look at both public and private, don t eliminate the private just at that first glance when you look at that price tag because, one of the things that we know about the private institutions in general, even though the cost is slightly higher, they also have bigger endowment, so there is more money to give out, so look at both.
