Host: What are the differences between a public college and a private college?
Jerome Cole: The primary differences, I think the first thing is the cost. You are talking about over a public institution of the national average is about $12,000 a year, that s tuition, room and board as appose to a private college we are talking about $29,000 a year. So, there is a considerable difference there.
The other differences between a public schools versus private schools and again we are talking general across the board is, the public schools are going to be in most cases a little bit bigger and little bit larger and they are going to have more resources and so if bigger is better in your mind then you may want to steer towards some of those public schools and then the last difference is, the public institutions because they are supported by the state, because they are supported by the federal government, they are going to always a preference for in state residence.
