Host: Should I use red eye reduction? Jenny Berman: In theory red eye happens because the lens is too close to the flash or vice versa, the flash is too close to the lens, it s pretty much inevitable. One of the biggest complaints I have from my customers is when they take a picture with the red eye on, it flashes like a 100 times and then the picture takes and the kids are gone away. So, you missed everything because that thing is flashing a 100 times and everybody gets frustrated.

So, the best recommendation I can give for that is, just turn it off. Red eye is going to happen whether you have that red eye on or you don t and software in the labs, you go to the store and they have those kiosks, where you can stick the card in, red eye reduction, pretty much as automatic in the printing process these days, you click a button and it s gone. So, I wouldn t worry about it if you get red eye, just live with it and it s so quick and painless to do it later.
