Transcripts

Host: What should every student know about his high school transcript?

Jerome Cole: First of all, every student should know what a high school transcript is. Basically, that is your official record that lists all the course work that you have completed at that particular school along with your grades, they will have your credits. So, that is the first thing, what is a high school transcript.

The second thing is you want to make sure that the information on that is correct. So, I advise students to check that transcript on an annual basis and then in their senior year at some point in the fall, prior to the Registrar sending off your transcripts to your particular colleges, go into the Registrar s office, ask to see that transcript, take that one last look and make sure that all the courses are listed correctly and make sure the grades that are on there are the grades that you earned. Just make sure it is accurate and up to date.
