Jerome Cole: Most schools have a regular decision deadline of January; the decisions are submitted to the public or disseminated in the month of March and April. So that kid, who applies early, gets an earlier notification, there is also the idea of conveying interest, of saying to a school that, I really like your school, you are high upon my list, so if I get admitted, there is a really good chance that I am going to come in . So, schools want to admit students and they ultimately, they want students to enroll, so that would be a second advantage, but I would I have to say, that in today s climate, there are so many students applying early that, that latter advantage is not as big as most people think it is.
