Host: When is the national deadline for committing to a college?

Jerome Cole: There actually is a national deadline if you will, where every student has to make a commitment and this commitment is both in writing and it s a financial commitment. The date is the 1st of May, at that point every student, every high school student out there has to have made a written commitment and the parents have submitted the deposit, to reserve your slot if you will on that particular campus. The only exception to that is earlier we talked about early decision; those early decision kids are making their commitments in the month of November or December.
