My name is Diana and I currently live in Washington D.C. I have been playing cello for about 25 years and teaching for 12 of those years. I'm currently a Doctor of Musical Arts candidate at the University of Illinois. I have received my master's from San Francisco Conservatory and my bachelor's from Middlebury College in Vermont. I'm currently teaching at the International School of Music in Bethesda, Maryland and Harmonia School in Oakton, Virginia. Today we'll cover a number of topics ranging from sitting with the cello, left-hand, pizzicato, bow, and a number of other things that will help you get started with the instrument.
