Jean Shea: Hi, I am Jean Shea with Shea Studio Interiors and I have been demonstrating how to create a beautiful home for the holidays and I am going to show you now how to jazz up your fire place. First thing I am going to do is In our household we have people with allergies, so we do not burn a fire. But there are ways that you can take your fire box and you can decorate it with candles to make it look very Christmassy and very inviting. Next thing, we are going to do is we are going to put roping along the mantle and you can buy length of white pine roping and maybe for about $20 at the floral supply and we are just going to take this and place it along the mantle here and you want to just even up the lengths. Get those links even, okay. Now, we are going to take our lights and we are just going to run our lights up through the greens. You may use whatever colored lights you are happy with. Just try to get them evenly spaced along the whole length; we can tuck them in once we get the length. We are going to put stocking holders up, hang your stockings, you could add little picks, you are trying to have everything be worked from the center out. So, we need a little bit of height on the left and the right, so I am going to grab some candle holders, you can take other things and add them to the center, give it a little bow in the center.

Next, I am going to place some stuff on the hearth, just add a few little things to make it a little bit more Christmassy, they say, a cricket on the hearth is good luck, so we had a cricket there. Now, we have a beautifully decorated fireplace. The next thing we are going to do is we are going to go into the dining room and make that beautiful for company and I will see you there.
